Using Multiple Pipelines
Multiple pipelines let you manage distinct workflows separately. Instead of cramming emergency service calls and month-long installation projects into the same pipeline, each gets its own stages, its own metrics, and its own view.
Multiple pipelines are available on the Growth tier (up to 5) and Scale tier (unlimited).
When to Use Multiple Pipelines
Use separate pipelines when:
- The stages are fundamentally different (a 3-stage repair process vs. an 8-stage installation process)
- The timelines are different (same-day dispatch vs. multi-week project)
- Different team members own different workflows
- You need separate conversion metrics per workflow
Common setups by trade:
| Trade | Pipeline 1 | Pipeline 2 |
|---|---|---|
| HVAC | Emergency Repairs | New Installations |
| Roofing | Insurance Claims | Direct / Cash Jobs |
| Plumbing | Service Calls | Remodel Projects |
| Electrical | Residential Service | Commercial Projects |
| General Contracting | Small Jobs (<$5K) | Large Projects (>$5K) |
| Cleaning | One-Time Cleans | Recurring Contracts |
Creating a New Pipeline
- Go to Settings, then Pipeline
- Click + New Pipeline
- Enter a name (e.g., "New Installations")
- Add stages specific to this workflow
- Click Save
The new pipeline appears as a separate tab in your pipeline view.
Moving Deals Between Pipelines
If a deal starts in one pipeline but belongs in another (e.g., a service call turns into an installation project):
- Open the deal in detail view
- Click the pipeline name at the top
- Select the destination pipeline
- The deal moves to the first stage of the new pipeline
- All history, notes, and conversation data are preserved
Pipeline-Specific Metrics
Each pipeline has its own metrics in the dashboard:
- Total active deals and pipeline value
- Conversion rate (deals won vs. total deals)
- Average days to close
- Revenue by source
This lets you compare performance across workflows. You might discover your emergency repair pipeline converts at 60% while your installation pipeline converts at 25% -- both healthy for their respective workflows, but very different.
FAQ
Can I have different custom fields per pipeline? Custom fields are currently account-wide. All fields appear on all deals regardless of pipeline. Pipeline-specific fields are on our roadmap.
Is there a limit to how many pipelines I can create? Growth tier: up to 5 pipelines. Scale tier: unlimited. Starter tier: 1 pipeline.
Can I delete a pipeline? Yes. Go to Settings, then Pipeline, select the pipeline, and click Delete. You'll be asked what to do with existing deals (move to another pipeline or archive).
